Warm fuzzy socks, bathrobes in the morning to keep warm, hot delicious coffee to help us wake up & a bit of Christmas music throughout the day.

How's your winter been? If you live in the warmer states, please don't comment. :)

Winter has come full force for December, so I'm praying maybe an easy January and February? One can only wish.

A little bit of this and that on life for us lately.

We just finished watching "This Is Us" season finale. To be honest, it took probably four episodes for me to truly get in to it. I just kept trying to compare it to Parenthood. So, once I stopped doing that it changed for me.

I'm not really sure what changed for me, but in the last couple of months, but I've sorta, almost enjoyed cooking. I mean, let's not get ahead of ourselves to say I love it. But, I'm growing confidence in my ability to try some new recipes. This past week I followed the pioneer women's recipe for chicken tortilla soup. I took my own little spin on it and it was delicious. So easy, too!

Despite the winter weather, we've been trying to get out of the house at least one time throughout the day. Lots of library & nature center time. I totally miss walking to the park and playing there. We've been heading to an indoor mall in town to get some laps down. It's not the same, but it helps for sure.

My goal for December was to read more. I just finished Girl on The Train. Typically, thriller books are not my go-to. But, once I started, I couldn't put it down. I'm currently reading When Breath becomes Air. I can already tell this is going to be a favorite. Will is reading the new Harry Potter book and I'm next in line. Grayson has been enjoying a plethora of 'new to him' library books. It's so fun to see which ones he gravitates too.

We've enjoyed showing Grayson the snow, watching this baby grow, and honestly a slower December as a family. It's been a really sweet month.

  1. What, you don't want to hear about how I'm still wearing flip flops? ;)
