Week 18

Hello week 18! I hit this mark last week. It started off pretty warm temperature wise, but as the weekend got closer and closer, the temps continued to drop. So we had our first fire in our fireplace and it was glorious! We also carved pumpkins with friends and had yummy tortilla soup. It was a wonderful weekend!

How far along: 18 weeks
Baby Size: bell pepper
Baby's progress: Head to rump, the baby is about 5 1/2 inches long, and he/she weighs almost 7 ounces. Baby is busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. Baby's blood vessels are visible through his/her thin skin, and his/her ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his/her head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his/her nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.
Weight gain: Probably not too much since my last apt, but again, I am not keeping track at home.

Stretch Marks: Still none!
Sleep: Sleeping really well!

Gender: It will be a wonderful surprise!

Movement: Yes, lots of movement. Especially in church, which is magical.

Best Moment this week: At the end of week 18 we registered for baby and had a blast.

Looking forward to: Getting stuff together in nursery this weekend and painting changing table!

Food Cravings: Still not craving anything!

Symptoms: Back pain still... looking forward to my prenatal massage.

Things that suck: I still don't like my back hurting, but other than that I feel great!

Things that don't suck: A lot of stuff! Being married to my best friend and seeing him become a Dad is really high on my list this week!
