20 weeks-halfway!

We hit the halfway mark last week. June feels like yesterday in someways, but like years ago at the same time. Didn't we just find out we were expecting? The days are long, but the weeks are short. I read in Parents Magazine that by the time your baby is born & until they turn 18, you only have 1,000 Saturdays to spend with them. Well, after I read that I couldn't be the only one who was semi-depressed, so I shared with Will and we cried together. Not really. But, that statement alone goes to show how quickly life with your kids goes. & in some ways that is fine. You raise them to stand on their on two feet and to start families of their own and to feel the same joy you felt when falling in love and raising them as kids. You want that for them.

20 weeks was bussssy. Will traveling and working, me pregnant and working, Sadie being sadie- it made for a hectic week. We were glad to be busy because we wanted Friday to come SOOO badly. It was our 20 week ultrasound. We pillow talked about it for months and it was finally here. The last time we saw our little nugget I was only 7 weeks, so baby N looked more like a seed than a baby. It was also the first time we got to see our hospital. We had heard amazing things about it and the town it's in, so we were very much looking forward to it. Also, bonus, my Mom got to come, which made me SO elated!

We decided to switch it up and take these outside for our big halfway milestone!
How far along: 20 weeks
Baby Size: Banana!
Baby's progress: Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He/She is also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel. The baby is swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his/her digestive system. The baby is also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).
Weight gain: Unsure on this one. Although, I have been walking and even jogging, so I am feeling really good!
Stretch Marks: Still none!
Sleep: Sleeping really well!
Gender: We still do not know! The tech told us to close our eyes, just in case we could tell what the gender would be!
Movement: Absolutely. All the time. During the ultrasound I could see it kicking and feel it at the same time, the most incredible feeling, ever!
Best Moment this week: Seeing our baby, by far! Moving its arms and legs around and cuddled inside of me-we just had the best day!
Looking forward to: If I would have had this done on time, I would have said our 20 week ultrasound. :)
Food Cravings: I guess the only craving I had was that I really wanted a donut and couldn't get it off my mind. :)
Symptoms: Back pain, still. :(
Things that suck: Just my back pain. Other than that, I just love being pregnant!

Things that don't suck: Having updated pictures of our baby and feeling baby kick inside of me!

Like I said above, it was our first time at the hospital, so we were anxious to see where our baby would be making it's debut. Everyone was SO friendly and welcoming and the hospital was so easy to navigate. We all were just so pleased. Our tech and doctor were also both very friendly. Our baby was being a little stubborn and was tucked pretty close to my placenta-just all snuggled up (adorable), so the tech tried forever to get it to move it's face, so she could take a 3d shot for us! Nope, not our babe. They stayed snuggled there and just kicked or punched back when she was poking at my stomach. She did get some good profile shots of the face and an almost 3d profile of the face, you can see it's little ear. At one point we saw it start sucking it's thumb and I'm pretty sure I died a little inside...we all three screamed"aww" or "o my gosh" We have NO idea who it looks like or what gender it is by looking at the pictures, we just know it's a healthy baby and that makes us so happy!

That weekend one of our good friends, who also happens to be my cousin was getting married! So we would have both family and friends at the wedding- win, win! My cousin is catholic and his now wife is Jewish, so they combined their religions as much as they could in the ceremony. It was really beautiful.
Seeing this gal made my heart happy! She is moving back to the mid-west and I think we are all just a little excited to have her 'home.' First time she got to see the baby bump too-we had way too much fun!
I've literally only seen this in the movies, so needless to say I got pretty excited. Actually, everyone did. Kendall and Andrea looked so happy all night and it's been a joy to be apart of their relationship from the beginning.

It is so much fun being pregnant with my sister-in-law, Julie. They found out they are having a boy and it will be the first time there are three generations of Dant men. That has us all excited. In the top corner, my cousin Megan is due in four weeks and looks amazing, then Julie and myself. & in the bottom corner, all us pregos with our Uncle Chris.

Just some family pictures to wrap up this post. I should have warned everyone at the top that this was going to be quite lengthy and with a lot of pictures! I'm sure you enjoyed it nonetheless :)
