16 weeks and Fall has arrived!

As I've mentioned before, Fall is my favorite season (Will's too). With the crisp air, the leaves changing, cozy sweaters, warm drinks, fires in the fireplace...what's not to love? I can feel it arriving and it makes me excited for all that is to come for our growing family. Today, our town had a Fall Parade featuring the high school band etc.. I couldn't help but think of taking our children to parades for the first time and seeing their face (hopefully) light up. Basically, we are just excited for this new season and all the firsts we are going to experience as Mom and Dad. I find myself just rubbing my belly- I love my new accessory. :)

This past week I hit the 16 week mark. Lots of exciting stuff will be happening in the next few weeks. A big growth spurt for baby & hopefully movement from baby N. :)

How far along: 16 weeks
Baby Size: Avocado
Baby's progress: Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his/her length. Right now, he or she is about the size of an avocado. 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His/her legs are much more developed, the head I erect more than it has been, and his/her eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His/her ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of the scalp has begun, though his/her locks aren't recognizable yet. He or She even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his/her heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.
Weight gain: After only gaining a pound in my august apt, I gained about a pound a week to hit my mark for September. Doctor said she is fine with my weight gain.

Stretch Marks: None that I can see. I am big on lotion!
Sleep: I've been sleeping really well lately!
Gender: We aren't finding out!
Movement: A little movement that I can feel. Nothing crazy yet, but Will did feel a little tap!

Best Moment this week: Finally feeling movement and hearing the heartbeat again.

Looking forward to: Nothing in particular- just enjoying carrying our child so much, setting up his/her room & enjoying this new season of life.

Food Cravings: Nothing to in particular. I like it all! :)

Symptoms: Having some bad back pain. Doctor said stretching and a prenatal massage. I am also carrying low, so that doesn't help!

Things that suck: My back hurting at work and stretching my IT band out on the foam roller. Talk about some serious pain.

Things that don't suck: Will and I being equally excited and talking for hours about what the baby will be like.

In some other random news, I've been decorating for Fall around the house a little bit & when we were at my parents house last weekend, my Mom and I went to a baby consignment store and found a nice changing table, so we bought it and really love it!

Some Fall d├ęcor!

& because she is just so cute! :)

The lovely changing table!
